Petrol (not diesel) up the Medway?

Gillingham, refueller just outside marina, 108p/l on Sunday, (but I think it gets a couple of pence cheaper at 200l). If you have cans and only need a bit there is a cheapo garage 100yds to North of Rochester Bridge, warf on North side just past bridge dries but bottom is clean and plenty of water three hours either side of high tide. Also MDL Chatham but only inside the marina. Mobo readers might be able to advise.

Good point.

Upstream from medway bridge, theres no riverside petrol at all. Its local garages and jerry cans!

Maidstone has shell garage 5 mins from the town moorings.

Wateringbury has shell garage 10 mins from medway wharf marina.

Upriver from there, theres nothing for a long way, until tonbridge, where there is the sainsbury's 10 mins from the town moorings as already said.

If your on the upper medway, make sure you have enough fuel!

Thanks guys!

I'll be coming from Limehouse, so a stopover at Gillingham might be nice (or is it? Should I just fill up and carry on?)

I'll be posting for advice on where is pleasant to stopover up the Medway closer to the date.

Anyone able to recommend a good book or website about the area for now?

Cheers.
