Interesting. Very good talk on use of new technology on modern merchant vessels, given by fleet manager of P&O Nedloyd. Brought home the need to keep well clear of the big 'uns. Discussion groups dealing with complaint handling, qualification of instructors, and an accident report (capsize of Creightons Naturally). Probably the main meat, though, was in the updating of the syllabus to give greater emphasis to electronic navigation. Plus, of course, a great opportunity to talk to other instructors.
