Perthshire Royal Navy officer accused of negligence after Cowes Week yacht crash

Can't wait to hear what his defence case is!

It'd better be a cracker otherwise he'd have surely been better off pleading guilty

And the Army is any better!?

....... & a General would be any good as a 'Tank-Driver'!? ..... or logistics/supply Sargent!? .... or anything worth paying any attention to?

If he pleaded guilty would it be an automatic court martial or whatever as he was in charge of a yacht from the a forces sailing club?

I bought a brolly during a wet week in Lesardroux a few years ago. It turned out to be very useful! It's still on board. From experience I'm inclined to agree about Admirals though.
That sounds familiar

Look Lads!

My 'owd-pal' Smudge who's still in the RN sails quite often in the Fastnet, RTI & Sydney to Hobart etc etc .... & is a very competent Sailor & Skipper ..... & I believe there are more who are than aren't .....

I though it was his own boat !

I think it is and Irish registered as well.

"...The 2002-built Corby 33 Atalanta has an IRL sail number but is most definitely not Irish owned. Previous owner Martin Breen of Galway bought the boat in 2007 and campaigned quite successfully as That’s Life...Breen sold the boat to a Cheshire sailor named Roly Wilson at the end of the 2010 season..."

He's called Roly, he's a a junior officer and owns a fancy Corby. Say no more... Bet he wore dubarrys and a rugger shirt with the collar turned up too. Not to generalise or anything... ;)

Whoops reread - Cheshire, Perthshire - who cares, they're pretty much the same from the angle of stereotyping (lived in both).
