Hi

Any recomendations as to where can cet some made Southampton, New Forest Lymington area please

many thanks

you can buy it on ebay and cut you own easily with a jig saw, might be a cheaper option. I would go for polycarbonate such as lexan as much stronger that perspex.

Yellow pages or Yell.com will no doubt find suppliers but two who advertise regularly in PBO and have been used by forumites are www.sunlightplastics.co.uk (Waterlooville) and www.talkingplastics.com (Horndean) are two I can offer in the slightly wider Solent area.

Your choice is between acrylic, such as Perspex, or the impact resistant polycarbonate ... the material used for riot shields etc.

Perspex is not a good idea, get a sheet and drop a small bag of sand on to simulate a person slipping.

The results are not pretty with sharp edges and long shards.

Go something a bit stronger, lexan is pretty good and there are many others available.

Ring your local sign writer, they will tell what is safest and cut it to size.

Avagoodweekend......

Most of the eBay suppliers will cuts to size at little or no extra cost as well.

Although polycarbonate certainly starts stronger, I have seen references to a 90% drop in strength in one year ...
