Perspex Windows

I chose perspex for my windows since polycarbonate is too soft to withstand salt laden winds which make it opaque in a short time.

SPENT 3 HOURS trying to install new windows using string - fairy liquid- brute force etc. Must be doing something wrong any hints?? I assume you place window in rubber than try to install??Any suggestions gratefully received.

Get the rubber in place on the frame, thread a something like a nylon string into the other side of the channel (window side, so that it goes all the way round and the meets with the ends hanging out at the bottom, place the window in the channle over the string, and then work outward pulling the string away from the window, whilst pushing the window in. This will pull the rubbar over the window, the end result is one window fitted with a lot less effort. I have seen many proffessionals using this technique. Good luck

The string method is spot on ..... it is the same method as used by traditional Windscreen fitters of yesteryear ......

Good luck.

Use as thick a twine as you can find to avoid cutting the rubber seals. I have done this by fitting the window into the seal first, then running the string around the seal. Get inside the boat, and get someone to apply pressure from the outside. Don't forget to fit the filler strip (if the seal has one) after you have the windows in, to push the seal tight against perspex and boat.
