I have two plastimo olympic deck mounted compasses on my boat with badly yellowed domes - nothing wrong with the compasses, just tiny scratches and UV effect. Does anyone know if there's a polish of some kind that will improve them ?

Talbot: have you had any direct experience in using the stuff that is supposed to get rid of the cracks/scratches induced by UV on the surface of the hatches? Anything you'd recommend?

There are polishes which are designed for removing (or reducing the impact of) scratches. AFAIK there is nothing that will do anything about UV degradation except renewal. If there is visible degradation from UV especially cracks, then the strength of the product has been seriously degraded and they should be replaced.

Not that expensive and better than the boat filling up with water due to a broken hatch!

... I agree with you about a big crack: but have you actually tried any of the polishes taht claim to fill in or remove the micro-scratches?
