Suspect that I'm becoming a curmudgeonly old Meldrew, coz I've got absolutely no interest whatsoever in this whole Queen/fleet review/Trafalgar business. In fact, it's worse than that. Strikes me the whole thing is bunch of dick measuring by the 'establishment'. Am I alone in this? Should I seek treatment. Help me by answering a quick poll.
 
it is upsetting that Fray Bentos no longer by royal appointment supplier of tinned meat ... get the grass cut instead of formenting republicanism, what ... !!
 
Bah humbug. Royal family, bunch of scroungers, haven't the Navy got better things to do? It'll be different come the Revolution; why couldn't they have given us the day off as well? Grimble, grumble.....
 
fleet review

HM queen floats around andlooks at boats. Usually they're all floating and get an A. Actually, perhaps some of them are C or D- - we never see the results. Praps the queen will be seen shaking her head jeez what a pile of rustbuckets i'm glad i got rid of mine....

Yes, Ken, I can confirm that you are becoming curmudgeonly.

Whilst accepting that I'm setting myself up for a roughing up from all of you rufty-tufty couldn't-give-a-fig-for-the-establishment types, I rather like the idea and if work allows will be anchored somewhere near Spithead watching the fun.

Another good reason for a drink or two on the water.
 
Well I think it’s lovely, I only wish I could be there as not only is it a wonderful sight it’s something the navy’s good at, and gives our fishermen free run for a few days to do all the things they have wanted to do all year.
Why the complaints? surprising from this forum as although she doesn’t contribute she is perfectly entitled to, she is after all a boat owner same as us.
This may come as a bit of a shock to some but I don’t think she even reads these forums.
Everything has been taken away from the Royals in recent years, we should stand together to make sure she never loses control of our armed forces.

So chill out, sit back, stop bellyaching and enjoy the spectacle,

After all, you`re paying for it.

Hasn't anybody noticed, to achieve this amazing festival to mark our great ruling of the waves, we have had to borrow everyone elses Navy?
