Personal GPS Locator & Google Map Update?

Just realised that my SPOT, which I was going to activate and then automatically update my position to a google map on my blog, has gone under. The company, that is.

Is there another product out there like SPOT that acts as an emergency position locator but can also be used to update my position on a Google map whilst away from land?

Methinks you are somewhat mistaken!

I've been emailing them for weeks and not received a reply and I cannot hit the website or any permutations of www.findmespot.com. If you can prove me wrong I would be very happy indeed as I was going to rely on my SPOT for my passage to India!

OK, so now I CAN hit their homepage. Must be a cache thing here in Marmaris Yot Marina. Hope I'm wrong, Numbus.

spot website working fine. My locator is up and running no problem.

try here http://international.findmespot.com/ Latest press office releases from both US and EU sites indicate quite the opposite. Lots of sales especially of version 2 of the device.
