As an aside, when iron/steel is buried in thick gloopy mud, does it corrode, or does it become quite stable in an oxygen-poor environment?
Probably similar to steel sheet piling where corrosion rates are usually taken as 0.012mm per year below bed level but can be up to 0.5mm per year for steel exposed at low water level.As an aside, when iron/steel is buried in thick gloopy mud, does it corrode, or does it become quite stable in an oxygen-poor environment?
