Currently based in Rio Dulce, Gautemala, Central America. There are a lot of old American boats with old Perkins engines in them here and a good Guatemalan friend of mine is repairing/ refurbishing them, but he is have problems getting parts.

Any suggestions of where we can source the parts, e.g. gaskets, impellor, filters, water pumps etc. in the UK or USA that have had experience in exporting parts to other countries, these parts will be exempt from VAT as the destination will be sent to an export agent in the USA. We will organise the shipping, but we need to ensure the export invoices and shipping documentation are correct, i.e. the company has shipped goods abroad before.

Past experience of a screw up with a UK company not suppling a correct export invoice resulted in my goods being held up by customs for 5 weeks and extra storage charges due to their incompetence.

TIA

This is a USA company that I have used in the UK when sourcing difficult to get parts. They have always had the part, but not used for about 8 years now. Last parts I ordered were slim line engine mounts which were imported and held until I paid import duty, which was not much.

Thanks for this, I have used TAD before but they are not cheap. they wanted between $700 and $1,400 plus shipping for a Starter motor for my 4236. I can get a CAV exchange in the UK for about £200 but very heavy to ship, I sourced an AC/Delco locally in Guatemala City for for £150
