Perkins Sabre 135, 48 ft heavy displacement yacht: can anyone give me an idea of how much fuel she should be burning?

Does about 13 litres an hour at 2100 rpm for 20 hours then 1800 rpm for 7 hours sound excessive?

Any suggestions as to what the optimum revs might be? She sounds sweet upto 23/2400 rpm

Thanks

You probably only need 60hp in reasonable conditions which equates to 13 liters / hour so it is what you expect -2000 rpm if in no hurry

I have twin M135's in a Grand Banks 42 approx 20 tons.

At 1800 & 8kn i use 13ltr total. At 2000 9kn its about 18ltr.

My engines are rated at 2600 WOT. I am a bit overpropped on stb. I can run at 2200 but dont do that for long.

Very comfortable at 1800 for us. 2300 sounds a bit high for continuous running unless you are under propped.

We have pair of these and they are very economical.Big lazy old lumps.exactly what you want for a reliable engine.
Some engines out there are developing 3 times the power from not much more than half the capacity,do wonder just how many hours before a rebuild ?
There are several fuel burn curves on the web and your consumption does not look far off.
