good evening all.

after a rather busy day at sea my engine has decided to spring an oil leak. im not a happy bunny as my engine is in a moody 38, and like most moodys, you cant ever get in anywhere!
(moody build good boats, that good that they think nothing ever goes wrong so they decide to box things in!)

anyway my question to everyone this evening is, does anyone know how i can get hold of a perkins prima m50 workshop manual? quickly and preferably free!

thanks in advance

I think its the same as the VP MD22 and the manuals are on my BOA site, www.beneteau-owners-association.org.uk here http://www.beneteau-owners-association.org.uk/techtips.htm

Size of Alternator

I wonder if anyone could confirm if the Perkins Prima 50 is fitted with a Lucas 70A alternator. The VP MD22 which is practically the same egine is apparently fitted with a Valeo 60A. I also wonder if a larger capacity alternator can be fitted without altering the existing supports of the Prima 50.
I have replaced all the batteries of the boat with AGM Lifeline( 1 x 105ah starting, 2x 210 ah service)and it seems that it takes an awful lot time to bring them up to full rating.
Thanks for any suggestions on how to keep the system healthy.
