The Prima 50 is basically the same engine as used in a number of road vehicles and a Haynes Workshop Manual is produced specifically for this engine - I think the title refers to the Montego and/or Maestro Diesel. I'll see if I can find a reference number for you. Diperk are certainly good for spares, although if you have a local Volvo dealer, the Volvo MD22L is essentially the same engine.

The Haynes manual is entitled:
Austin/Rover Diesel Engine Owners Workshop Manual.
The ISBN number is 1 85010 857 9 and mine was published in '93 so I don't know if it's still in print but there should be some around secondhand.

Regarding to your proposition having the the workshop manual from MD22L I would be very preciated having it.In fact I am trying to replace the crankshaft seal however before I do to point out 4 timing zones,

You could always contact, email parts@goldenarrow.co.uk and ask for Tony and am sure they will be happy to copy you a manual for the M50.

thks a lot for ur advice abt tony.
I mailed him immediately,I have an leaking crankshaftseal and dont know how to mark up the ignition points before dismounting this beast...
Joke by side she is an trustworthy and very good engine...

Hi Funsize,
Tony were really happy to make an copy for the workshop manual at an fee for 60 pounds.Meanwhile I'll get an original copy from Germany.This I will publish to benefit our friends for free in a few days.This engine is a beast it took me an hole day to unscrew and get him out of the boat.
