Its was in distant past that I had the 4-107 replace my seized 4-99 ..... during a few seasons after that - I had occasion to acquire a second fuel injection pump for the 107 ...

For anyone interested - they have a small 'thimble' filter just inside the main feed and it can become blocked ... its impossible to extract in situ (some bright spark will now say I'm wrong ... ) but believe me not only I tried - but two experienced diesel mechanics arrived at same conclusion ... only was was to remove the pump and sort on the bench .... this led to my having two pumps.

Anyway - the tag in the photo is tied to my water pipe so as to not lose it ... BUT I cannot for life of me remember what its for ... I THINK its the injection pump as Perkins Serial search throws up zero ..

Anyone have a clue ... can anyone actually identify it ?

It is from the C.A.V. injection pump, the code example in the Perkins manual is EH39/1200/4480, looks identical.
Explanation is 4480 is maximum no load engine speed.
Perkins advice is to contact nearest C.A.V. distributor, I have no idea wether they still exist.
