Hi, I'm trying to prepare for going out to France to sort out some wiring issues on our syndicate owned, 1997, Stevens 1140 fitted with a single Perkins M135 engine. It is fitted with an early Sabre instrument panel
and a more recently replaced, engine control panel on the upper bridge
. We have been suffering with intermittent problems with blown fuses on the pre-heat circuit; faults on the starter button to starter solenoid circuit and apparent failure of some of the engine warning lights. I am struggling to get clear answers before my visit to the boat. Can anyone please tell me:
1. Whether the fuses on the Perkins M135 engine mounted fuse panel are regular ATO automotive fuses?
2. The type of starter circuit relay fitted on the front of the engine?
3. The type of bulbs fitted in the control panels (see attached)?
4. How you get the bulbs out of the secondary control panel? (I have previously removed a lens but, on first inspection, couldn't see how to get at the bulb.)
I have also been told by the yard that the engine instrument panel, charge warning bulb incorporates an alternator exciter diode but can find no evidence of this. Can anyone confirm whether this is true or not?
Any advice or experience on tackling any of the issues would be appreciated.
