Perfect except the price

There are plenty of fittings made to attach to existing stainless tube. Even a simple strap clamp could be bolted to a disc of marine ply to make a mounting. For a DIY solution look down the fittings on this page to see ones that can be fitted round existing tube, and used to bolt on a small mounting table.

how can they justify that price, i cant believe some of the prices boating stuff is...i could get you one made up at my local s/s workshop for about a fiver, mind you i am in turkey.!

They're that price because of the low turnover in the high-priced marine market. They don't sell many because of the ridiculous price!

Mounts

Perhaps I did not explain enough in my last post, so I managed to find some images of the Garmin mount.
The small clamp in the second pic, has been in place for more than two years. There is an attachment plate which clips into the back of the plotter and clips neatly into the rail clamp. Works very well.
I cannot remember the cost but I am sure it was a lot less than the edson mount.
ps. another vote for the RAM mounts - we have one for making videos on board;)

Cheers,

Michael.

I think they may have just what I was after at a fraction of the price. Many thanks
