Perceptive Frenchman?

Actually he was not so bright as you might think... for example this is what he said about the bard Shakespeare: "Shakespeare is a drunken savage with some imagination whose plays please only in London and Canada," "Shakespeare is the Corneille of London, but everywhere else he is a great fool..."

He also I remember said Macbeth was barbaric. Got that one right didn't he? So perhaps the Scawts shouldn't use him to make the case for its civilized qualities!
