Hi

I have read through most threads and think I am okay with this.. but I want to move a boat from Penton to Tedd a week Sat, small 17 ft Outboard powered job.

Outside of being stupid enough to buy it in the first instance what are the chances of moving it, I can swing past the sunken barge at Sunbury?

Did you want to go through Teddington lock?

I'd be interested in how you get on as I would like to move a boat from Windsor to Limehouse at some point.

Only thing I can think of is Teddington which was supposedly closed but I think that overrides the PRN so I suspect you can get through there.

In my case not sure if Limehouse lock is on a PRN waterway as it is connected to a dock/basin before communicating with the Lee Navigation so I expect it is up to the marina owners and/or Canal River Trust.

Other than the Teddington question and hand winding I'd say you are good to go.

EA acting harbour master (and others) has been working hard today. I've had three notices today and the River is very nearly all clear ('cept for Sunbury head approach - where they say 'don't) If in doubt gove them a bell - usually quite helpful folks and have better info: than 'us' boaters. I'm encouraged - may even go boating (not until next week...)

I wouldn't want to try it in mine as I reckon I'd be in the trees, but a 17 footer with an outboard would be no problem through Sunbury.

EA latest:
We can confirm divers will be attending site on Friday 29th May with the intention of removing the boat in week commencing 01/06/2020.

Thank you, I also got a reply from a tweet, so yes we can safely navigate our way around it but the lock will be closed.

We shall just head upriver on Sat along with the world and aim for the following weekend, failing that it will be a quick run down the A316....
