Penta MD7A propeller pitch

I looking to replace the old iron folding prop on my old 13 hp Penta with 110s saildrive. However, there are no markings on the original propeller and the manual gives no info on propeller pitch. Any insights out there? Thanks in advance!

MD7A Prop

The size & pitch depend on the boat to which it is fitted. Have a look at www.marinepartseurope.com and you will see all the available props listed for the MD7A / 110S combination. the diagrams show the old style props which are no longer available. The new style are available in the same sizes & have bronze hub & blades. I suggest you take your prop to a Volvo penta dealer who should be able to size it for you.

hi. my last boat (Hustler 30) had a MD7A and the propeller was 14" diameter and 9" pitch. Hope that helps.

If you find that a 14X9 propellor is what you need, I have a Volvo one RH of that spec.

Look up a Volvo accessory cataloque it will have a table giving the size required although you may have to find an older one.

There are methods out there using a protractor and compasses of measuring the pitch of a prop. Its considerably easier with the prop off the boat. I need to do it myself at some point so I have a better idea which folding prop I need...
