flew the forum pennant for the first time over the weekend in Poole and was damm glad I had for 2 reasons -
1) everyone else had one flying
2) it seemed to add just over a knot to my top speed

Now (2) probably explains (1) above; but I seem to have missed the thread where the magical, or technical, explanation of the pennant's powers was explained.

Can anyone enlighten me?

that's what happens when you wear it at a "jaunty angle"

mine is hung on the wall at home, doesn't make my house to be built any quicker! went down to do some work on the boat today, unhooked the other one off my davits!!

no damage luckily, but removed davits anyway. big thanks to duncan for the warning! got all the measurements done for the ventilation, and sorted the port engine starting out (leaking diaphagm in the carb).

i just want my boat back!!!
 
How does one qualify for a Forum pennant? Is it presented on completion
of so many threads or is it purchased so that users of these forums can
reconnise each other?
Could be very disapointing to meet face to face as Ishould imagine we all
put own images to other users! And others could be downright scary and
some you would not turn your back to for reasons better not to mention!

Just ask Haydn (aka hlb)

Ask him nicely, and he will demand money with menaces...just send him a cheque (rubber sort are good!) and a sae (you have to be sensible here, if you send him an envelope 0.5 by 1.1 inches, he'll ridicule you on the forum) and within days you'll have a fluttery thing for the boat

By the way, I checked, and it really is a burgee

If yer wants flags. Send me a PM and save me having to anounce name and address to the world in general. There £12 or £15 with 1000, 2000, 3000 on them. No you cant have 59 or 86 on them cos thats the rules. You must of course have posted the requesit amounts of posts to qualify for the 1000. Also need SAE 41p.

Though I say it myself, they do look very posh and should last quite a long time. Less like Byron or Coliholic, you loose it!!

My ones starting to go a frayey at the end. Gets to much flapping I think, should have made them from the same material that the wifes mouth is made of. That never stops when she's on the phone and theres no sign of fraying there!

Nah, its one of those models you've spent so much on that you have to keep it and run it into the ground to get your moniesworth!
 
You can have one plain, without numbers! Mines got 4000 on it, no only kidding when I got mine it had 1000 on it!
 
Whilst walking along Poole Quay wondering who we were looking for, SWMBO says 'Oh look, theres someone with one of your flag thingies'(she thinks we're sad). Sure enough it was Adrian tying said thingy to 4x4 arial and he then proceeded to drive around Poole with it displayed, like a lost one man regatta. Next time we see it, it is draped around one of his children as he wanders around the Quay trying to find others of a like minded persuasion. A bit like those kids you used to see in airports travelling alone with a label telling everyone who they were(a paedeophiles dream I would imagine). I suppose it made sense really, if only to ensure that those who had brug boats weren't hanging around for hours waiting for people to show up.

Looks like I will be spending a lot more time here,
Problem is, I try to keep my posts reasonably sensible, But now being
here long enough to realise that sensible posts are frowned upon on
Mobo chat,so will endeavour to enter into the spirit of things!
By posting a lot more crap.

Nearly ripped the damn aerial off the car - still it worked !!!! Think I'll get the logo airburshed all down the side of the car - SWMBO will love it !!!!!
