I find usually a bunch of flowers or something sparkly does the trick

Can't beat Mike's answer, but I have had the same problem with my Pela.

It was the relief valve button that failed to seal properly. This happened during only its second use.

Basically I just rammed a tie-wrap around the spring loaded spindle to jam the relief valve closed all the time. It's worked fine ever since, (although I still can't get that extra half inch to make my five and a half into six /forums/images/icons/wink.gif.)
