Hi
Nice starter boat that has quite a good performance and accomodation. Came in bilge keel or fin configuration, originals had a Volvo petrol saildrive fitted, seem to
remember a sliding galley that disppears under the cockpit above the quarter berth. There is one at my home club and I can put you in touch with the owner if you PM me

Hi Hardley,
I own a Pegasus 700 and have had her since 2004. Bought her in Shoreham and brought her up here to the river Forth in Scotland. I take her thro' the Caledonian Canal to Ballachulish (nr. Fort William) on Loch Leven, every year and sail on the West coast of Scotland for the summer (when we get one). I only know of one other '700' in our area but don't see much of him, I think he sails out of Dalgety Bay, about 5 miles East of here. Good to know there are other '700's out thereand are active. Please keep in touch.

Hello AlexB, I bought my first yacht 18 months ago and it is a pegasus 700.The boat is moored in Banff Marina in Aberdeenshire. As i am new to sailing and had no experience i was advised to buy one (from a relative that used to have the bigger pegasus 800) as they are good boat's and so far i can't fault it.Even though she's 27 year's old she doesn't look more than 12 (on the outside anyway).I don't know of any more of them up beside me,steve

Hi Steve, I was in Banff last summer and saw your 700 (Red ?), she looked very impressive. I was there for three days due to bed weather. I sail out of Limekilns on the Forth, and take my boat to Ballchulish for the summer. I will be passing your way later this year again (probably May), so we may make contact then. I have had 'Sea Horse' for six years and think she is a great boat. I sail single handed most of the time and feel quite comfortable doing so. I hope you get to enjoy your boat as much as I enjoy mine.
Alex

Hi,Alex.Yes that's my 700 you saw. It's called Leandra Jane (after my wife).I bought her to learn to sail in as it's something that i have alway's wanted to do.I'm enjoying sailing so far but still have a lot to learn.Finding the time is difficult as i work away from home.It would be nice to get a look of your boat if your up to my area in May.Kind regard's steve

Hi Steve,
I think I pressed the wrong button and lost my message, so this is a duplicate. I will be in your area around mid May. We crane in on w/e 10/11th April and I want to have Sea Horse ( not called after my wife) at Ballachulish as we usually go to a cottage there for a holiday in early June. Keep in touch, it would be nice to welcome you aboard.
Alex

Hi,Alex.Thank's for the kind reply and i'll drop you a line in a week or so.Just started doing a bit of pre-season maintenance today so i'll be about another 6 week's before my boat's ready.cheer's steve

Hi Rob,

My first boat was a Pegasus 700 and I think it was an ideal first boat for the east coast. Considering their age they don't depreciate if looked after, and are simple to maintain. Mine had bilge keels and a well at the back for an outboard. I wasn't sure about the outboard at first, but it turned out to be easy to maintain, accessible, and could be stuck in the garage for the winter. Another nice thing was being able to drop the mast, that feature saved a lot of faffing about. The only negative thing I could say about the boat was that when it got lively some of the cupboard doors in the main cabin would pop out! Funny, but even though I've traded up I still miss her occasionally.

Regards
Phil

Hi Alex, I recently purchased Leandra Jane from Steve and she now has a mooring at Gourdon. I would be interested if you have any advice on mast raising. I understand there is an "A" frame system which allows one to raise the mast single handed but I haven't been able to find any precise details.
Do you still have your Pegasus?

Dear Phil,

I just bought a Pegasus 700, which seems a nice and comfortable boat. I am from Hungary and I bought this boat localy. Unfortunately I have no description about the boat and I bought it without spinaker boom and spinaker fan. Would be good to know the other parameters of the boat ( lengtrh of the pole, size of genaker and grose etc). Can you help me to have more information about it?

Thanks for your help in advance

Robert
