Not many peeps about this morning, heavy night last night? Mind you I'd still be in bed if I wasn't working aswell! Just checked up on the price of my berth for the winter six months in Barcelone, 2300 pounds, incl. VAT, so not that bad for a 17 meter boat, Elec and water extra, but cheap enough seeing as I'm only there half the time. I just wonder what a six week period in the bollyolics is going to cost, I normally allow 5-6000 pounds for all mooring charges for a year in the med, but don't yet know what it'll cost in "costabunch" Ibiza etc. Once I retire, I can use more anchorages etc, as I'll be on the boat all the time. So things will get a lot cheaper, I hope. Just thought I would share that with you all! Feeling generous this morning!

I see on the TV this morning the bollyolics, as you call 'em, are introducing a tourism tax as from 1st May. 1€ per person per day, payable to hotel, guest house etc. I wonder if they'll try swinging this on boat owners. Bet they will, 1€ per metre per day perhaps.

I'd better shut up, might give someone ideas!

If that happens, I won't be going to the balleares! The marinas are expensive enough as I've been told, but no actual prices yet! I'm not sure this kind of thing is legal in the EEC, taxing another members people etc. They have all this kind of thing in Greece, but they never take any notice anyway, have you read about the plane spotting fiasco!

Yeh, if cruising E Med., keep clear of Greece, get within a mile of a naval vessel, you're a spy, straight in the slammer.

I think if I was one of the plane spotters, get back to the UK, and not go near the place again. OK, lose the bail, but that's better than 3 years in a Greek jail. They get charged 17 grand for the fun of going on trial anyway. As you say complete fiasco.
