I have bought a 10m. motor sailer built in 1972 by West Marine, Peel, I.O.M., a "Peel Offshoreman". Does anyone have any information on this boat?

Your boat is listed in the good yacht guide(motorsailers). It is the offshoreman35ft.
Dimensions 35-29.5-9.6-4.6(long keel) Described as good sailer. Also built in IOW
by West marine. (hope this helps)

Its an old thread - but just in case anyone still looks at it - I too have recently bought a Peel Offshoreman and would be interested in linking up with any other owners ....

Same here, deal just going through...can we exchange info please as its really hard to find any info at all on these boats. cheers, Greendrake97

Good luck to both of you with your acquisition of fine pieces of Manx heritage. What remains of the old Peel factory is still in place, alongside the River Neb in Peel, 200 yards above the top of the harbour. The same company made motorcycle fairings and even small cars. Most where three-wheelers, one for each leg. See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peel_Engineering_Company

Thanks macd - I'm really enjoying the boat and have been impressed with its sailing ability/speed - as well as its comfort levels on the Clyde on some wet, miserable days !!
There was another one still in Peel - recently sold (called Stronnag or similar - dark blue) and I've been meaning to exchange info. with the previous owner who was I think the son of the builder.
