Pearl 43 information / owners wanted

Hi and happy new year all

I am hoping to be able to chat to another Pearl 43 owner for information about props
also why a turbo rubber pipe connector keeps blowing off

thanks in advance

Have you tried Iain Smallbridge, the Pearl MD? No one knows more about Pearls than Iain.

If you say what engines then there will be more owners to help

if you say what engines you might get more replies about the pipe.

hi yes we have spoken to him and they have lost all the files for our boat
ian know our boat well and delivered it with the owner himself
all the information I have is Monaco props but during an office move all other information was lost and they have tried going through all their archives without any luck
maybe because ours was slightly a one off boat but hope to find someone who have a pearl 43 as they should be the same

thanks again

steve

re turbo rubber pipe blowing off: obviously check the clamps and clean the metal surfaces. It could be a waste gate issue creating over pressure from the turbo. Have a look at the small metal pipe and connections that goes from the compressor side of the turbo to waste gate control valve on the exhaust side of the turbo. They can come loose or corrode. If that all seems OK take the waste gate valve out - it could have rusted shut or failed. Best way to be sure is measure the boost pressure - a good volvotech should have the kit to do that.

re props - if you can't identify the OEM, try Teignbridge marine or Clements, Either should be able to make you new one(s) by measuring the current props. With a bit of (bad) luck some other Pearl 43 owner will have clattered a prop in the past. One or the other Prop People may have the details.

When we were based in Mylor Yacht Harbour many years ago there was a Pear 43 based there. It was very little used and eventually spent much time on land. It has recently been purchased by a new owner and is based in Whitehaven Marina. I am afraid that I don`t have any contact details having only met the owner very briefly in Scotland last summer. Whitehaven Marina may be able to put you in contact with the owner.
