I am looking to get one.
https://pcnautic.nl/nl/autopilot/pcnautic-autopilot-detail

I understand it’s:
Software PiPilot
It is open source so with some learning I could install on raspberry Pi and make my own.
As i understand the software works well.

hard wear
having googled thanks to @KompetentKrews in another thread I have found that you can buy linear activators direct, of various qualities for low prices.

So in essence it’s about £300 pounds worth of hardware, packaged and made ready to go, I can deal with that. I am not one to make such a project.

My questions:
Has anyone got any first hand experience of this system?
how reliable are they?
Is It worth the £300 more than Raymarine/ Simrad tiller pilot offerings?

Boat is 30’ long keel 4t ish displacement.

I made some enquiries as I liked the rugged enclosure but the hardware was not 100% compatible with the pre built PyPilot software "Tiny Pilot".
So I bought the Tiny pilot brain and motor controller installed inside and have TV IR remote to control. I use a Jeffa drive onto my wheel and it is great on my Beneteau 343.

The Wx Hong actuators are very hardy - I crossed Biscay with mine (using a Raymarine SmartPilot below-deck ACU), and am quite confident with it in force 6+.

My boat is a 90's 40'er with a fin keel and spade rudder.
