Has anyone had any problems with the pc planner software using c-map cartridges in a USB reader. My system would often crash at startup, but recently I swapped the reader to put my scanner into the USB port and after I had finished, plugged the USB C-Map reader back and now the program crashes everytime I start up the pc planner software, if i remove the c-map cartridge from the reader it works alright (obviously without the chart data), If I put the cartridge into my real chart plotter that works fine. I have been to the C-Map site and uploaded the latest SW and driver, but no change. I am running XP home OS. and I am getting really fed up! /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Contact NL problems...

Tried to PM you. Got a message you have exceeded your quota. Can you clean up and send me a PM when you have done it so I can try again. I typed a load of stuff (all nonsense of course) and then found it wouldn't go - won't tell you the words I used !! /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Re: Contact NL problems...

I think I was wrong in my previous post, as today I went out on the Mersey for the Clipper 2005 start and found my Navman plotter was behaving in the same way as the PC plotter, either crashing or plotting millions of lines on the screen. I concluded it must be the C-Map cartridge as this was the only common factor, cleaning the contacts didnt help, but flexing the card slightly did. When I returned home the card worked fine on the PC-Planner package. So I think I have a dodgy C-Map cartridge.

Cheers,
