I down loaded the PBO free computer software and was successful and able to use all programmes for drawing and plotting in DR mode.
Recently I connected my Garmin GPS48 using a dedicated connection cable to the serial (1) port on my computer. I haven't been able to receive a signal on my computer, have tried using another L/top but still without success.
I have read all instructions but seem to be at a loss what to do next.
In panel 2 of the PBO instructions "what does your GPS say?" it mentions "once GPS and Computer are connected the LOOK.BAS opens one of the serial ports and prints on screen the first 10 NMEA sentencesthat it finds (this I do get) and writes to a text file called GPSOUT??.TXT (in brackets you choose the ??.) which I dont understand and I do not get any $GPGGA of any other GPS sentences showing my position data. Any Ideas? Ray Penn
