Why do we hv 2 fora? Why aren't they merged? Does anyone view one and not the other? Isn't it all a bit daft? We buy one mag but we do know the other exists. This is all like the BBC not admitting ITV exists. Just a few more key strokes, I know, I know, but at my age one more stroke is a stroke too far.......unless we're thinking of. . . . . no, no no!

They have very different focuses. Scuttlebutt (YM) is primarily about general chat on sailing and related. PBO is mainly about DIY, technical issues, and used by both sailing and motorboat fraternity (same as the magazine)

Historically, before the creation on the lounge, PBO was strictly no nonesense and joke free and focused on serious posts, while Scuttlebutt had a large amount of humorous and non boating threads, which is still partially true

I think that pbo content is far better kept here where things normally stay on track pretty much, and people that want purely practical help can find it quite easily without too much banter and distraction.

Yes

Keep PBO seperate or people that don't manage to spend all day on here have no chance of catching the practical issues when it's busy , I don't always read PBO or SB or anywhere , so keeping things as they are gets my vote

Silly me..I thought scuttlebutt was a lightning rod to keep idiots off the main boards /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

It certainly works for me..
