PBO whinge - open letter to the Ed.

Our Geni is super quite, sound insulated, and ducted water box exhaust, most folk cannot hear it at all. Like you I get piffed with loud geni's running late at night and early in the morning. We put hot water in the flask at night, so we don't have to boil a kettle for the early morning cup of coffee. Keeps everybody happy. I've been in a gas explosion many years ago - sorry, but tough if my quite geni upsets others.

[/ QUOTE ]I agree 100%. We go out of our way not to use the geni as much as possible, and never in a marina when 220v shore power is available. We generally only use it on the hook, or under way.

We use the inverter or 12v for Laptop, TV, low power appliances. Geni only used for Hob, Microwave, Kettle and Toaster. The aft Jaquizzi runs off a heat pump /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
 
I started reding PBO back in the 1970's and it was best mag available due to the "Practical" nature of the articles. I have been conserned that the Practical has now gone out of PBO.

Pls give us more practical/how to do articles and less boat reviews !!!!
 
Very practical advice on where to buy gadgets or how to drive a colvic fisher up and down the french canals full of badly wired electronics...

Re 'that' article; it is a waste of space but then so are most articles from that particular author, IMO of course, when I see one I don't usually bother to read it and only looked at this one cos of the thread!
 
Dont be silly if you epoxy your boat to the pontoon, how will you be able to carry out all those convoluted and ridiculous boat handling 'master class' exercises featured in the articles that they fill the rest of the magazine with!!
