I sent off to PBO (IPC) a large sum of money in Decemnber last for a 3 year subscription. Boy am I regretting having done so. I got my January issue on time (Hooray) but when the February issuie had not arrived by Mid Ferruary I emailed asking what had happened? I received an email saying "Probably lost in post" and the would send a replacement within 21 days.
As time progressed I sent further emails asking when I would get my copy and all the, obviously automatically generated replies, said would be sent within 21 days. Am I alone in feeling that, once IPC have my money, they aren't interested in customer service?
I am amazed, in any event that it would take any organisation 21+ to stick a replacement copy in the post.
Maqybe I am an isolated incident but for the moment I wouyld advise Caveat Emptor!

I've subscribed to PBO for a number of years and never missed an issue (always on time). I have also subscribed to Sailing Today for a long time (7 years) and about 3 issues have not turned up (but they have always sent another promptly).

I think it is just the luck of the draw!

I've subscribed for 3 or 4 years now. No problems, except one copy arrived with what looked like a bullet hole in it (obviously done before being wrapped). Sent an email, got a fresh copy within 2 days plus an apology.

I subscribed for a couple of years when I was in the UK and never had any problems..

Was looking just last night actually at starting a subscription from here in New Zealand..

It would be $200 a year (going on the 1 year at a time method I used previously) which is over $16 an issue..

I can buy it from a few of the local corner shops round here for $15..
I'm always a few months behind doing it that way which is a bit of a pain..
Only getting the December issue in now for example..

Has anyone on here tried the digital offering..? I like the idea of getting my PBO on time.. but I think I'd prefer the touch and feel of a proper magazine..

You'd like to think the digital version would be immune from being lost in the post ..or arriving with bullet holes in it..

Cheers..

only ever had one missed and a phonecall had a replacemetn sent immediately. Very occasionally i'll spot the edition on the shelves sooner, but rare. Overall I really like having a subscription.

I started about 1.5 years ago with delivery to Germany. The first month where a bit difficult, but the email help prooved so good that one issue arrived twice, together with the issue for the following month. But since one year it goes very smooth.

Re: PBO subscription to PB

Just an update - November 2008, paid over £200 for 3 year subscription to PBO. In short order I received a copy of the January cover issue. Since then as at 24th february 2009 nothing!
Numerous email got automated answers the replacement copies would be sent within 21 days but, of course , nothing arrived. Two telephone calls have resulted in the same lack of action with the exception of offering me an extension of subscription which , given the pathetic lack of service is unacceptable. I now wait, as I was requested to do, until mid march when the failure to deliver 3 issues apparently is supposed to trigger some action from IPC subscriptions.
It's not rocket science, since I got the first copy, they have the address.
I strongly regret taking out a long term subscription and would like to advise others of the lack of respone=se they can expect from IPC once they have your money.
