PBO Reproofing test

I understand PBO did 1 of their tests recently on reproofing products for waterproofs - anyone remember the results ?

I have a copy somewhere but if I recall correctly the best product was some spray on waterproofing stuff made by Gill.

First Mate had a wet right sleeve on her sailing jacket. I found a can of aerosol tent reproofer and did the business.

It really worked. It has not leaked at all since the treatment.

OK- hands up-due to the dry summer and good fortune the only time we had significant rain on our cruise this year she was off watch so never got to test it.........................................

Thanks I will look out for those - it is for salopettes decent nick overall but that have gone a bit thin & let in the damp

I use Nickwax products on my breathables. They work well but are IMO rather expensive so I'd like something else as long as it doesn't clog up the Goretex. My VERY old Simpson Lawrence Goretex suit was fine until i ripped it and repaired it with spiny tape but they only leak around the slice so the Nickwax stuff must have done it's job.

These are Simpson Lawrence too - from demise time how long ago was that any idea 7 or 8 yrs ?

One cleaning solution, and one proofing solution that can be used in a washing machine. I did not find it expensive to use as only part of each bottle used for one treatment.
