PBO collection 1983-2019

[A sailors daughter]

My dad, who recently passed away, was a keen sailor and he owned 3 yachts over the years. He was also a committed reader and collector of Practical Boat Owner and he requested that his collection of around 450 PBO magazines be passed onto someone who would make good use of them. Would anyone out there like them or can suggest who might? They are in brilliant condition and my understanding is almost every single issue is there from between 1983-2019. I am based in bournemouth, Dorset (which is a lovely place to sail FYI).

I'm very sorry to hear of the loss of your father, sadly nothing I say can make in difference to you, been there, done that. Its a loss that mellows with time as you remember all the good times - but it needs patience.

Its an interesting collection, which I would love to access. Realistically its a dream - I live in Sydney.

The only suggesting I can make is that bigger yacht clubs sometimes have libraries that may welcome a complete collection. Another option would be a local 'city' library. For example our Maritime Museum has an extensive library and hold Yachting Monthly, though I don't know how far back nor whether it extends to PBO.
