Patio Doors.

Anybody actually had go at replacing knackered rollers on their sliding patio doors. ?

John P (Duga) has done his, I know they're smaller than yours and sit at an angle, but I'd guess the process is the same.

Assuming the sliding patio doors are manufactured by Trend Marine then they do new locks, rollers brush seals etc.

I have had them done on my curved doors by one of my blokes , its a bit of a fiddle but OK.

Are they knackered or would a lube job make amends? clean the runners top and bottom and squirt with wd40, worked on our patio doors.

Have a close look at the bearings. As a comparison the sliding entry door on a Targa 31, although made by Trend actually uses runners and bearings by Holt Products (Make bits for saily things). They were the runners from a mainsheet traveller.
Replacement bearings from Holt were about 1/4 the price from Trend.
Changing was dead easy but a bit fiddly

One of the rollers is actually missing.
Engine out and rebuilt and one roller assembly mysteriously went AWOL.

According to a local expert, some rollers can only be changed after the glass is removed, because they are fixed from the inside.
