PAST WEATHER INFO?

I would like to be able to fnd out what the wind speed was at
a certain time & place in the UK.
Does anyone know how I can do this or can reccomend a site?

Ask the Met Office. They will, however, charge. The service is provided mainly for legal cases.

Try www.wunderground.com - they have records for many sites in the U.K.

The "History" section of http://www.weatheronline.co.uk/euroakt.htm will give it in beaufort, m/s, kph knots or mph. However wind history is restricted mainly to coastal stations.


eg (from the charts) The wind at St Catherine's Point was blowing 16knots on Sunday 22nd July 2001 from the west

For *recent* weather, ie past 24 hours, both of the sites below list the weather conditions hour by hour. Since I don't have an anenometer on my boat it's quite nice on getting back at the end of the day to see whether it was or wasn't quite as windy as it seemed!

http://www.ndbc.noaa.gov/Maps/United_Kingdom.shtml - weather at weather buoys around the coast and offshore.
