Passerelles

Hi everyone, today we were looking for a possible winter mooring and Cavalaire Sur Mer is on the list, about half way between home and St Trop. The only problem is that there are no finger pontoons and it's all Med style mooring with slime lines and heavy chains. Yuk!
A passerelle may also be necessary, I've never before wanted one because there is no clever storage place on my boat and I think they make the swim platform useless. While mulling over this problem my wife said why don't I get an inflatable passerelle! Are these things available or has she hit upon the way I'm going to afford a 68 ft Princess like Magnum has?
As a starter, an inflatable Stand Up Paddle board could work.

Probably depends on your boat but when we were in Cavalaire last summer we found that we could just pull on the stern ropes to bring the stern close in and step easily from the bathing platform to the shore.
We carry a 'gang plank' when in the med but never used it last year as we were able to do the above where ever we went.

I have one already due to a long history of lame dogs. But I'd have to empty my pockets not to exceed the max load

we were quite a few nights in Cavalaire,
and remember that the quay is very low, boat moored close to the quay, so that we walked from the swim platform on the quay
marine is very well protected from wind and swell (AFAIR)
our guests and friends alway's liked Cavalaire

Thanks dpb and BartW, yes we like the look of the port. How many restaurants are open in winter is a bit of a concern but it's quite a big town and downtown is next the port so should be ok. We put in our application today so now it's out of our hands.

A nice place and the pontoons are not fixed ,they float as others have said -you can step off .
It's very French ,meaning very sans Brits .
I did my permit Du Mer there at the bateaux ecole --2004 .
We Allways tend to call in for a night when are over there -in the Var .
We stayed a week once on a berth when we enrolled the kids in the national bateaux ecole to learn to sail -optimists and they also learnt a few French swear words
