ah! I'd also check what oil is there. IIRC Bez expect iso30 hydraulic fluid and not ATF (but I may be wrong on that) tbh shouldn't make much of a difference as viscosity is similar...
OK but if you can't hear the clunk of the cylinder extending to its maximum can you feel it hit the stop as a single vibration, if you put your hand on the neck of the cylinder?JFM
When you lift it as high as it goes, you should hear a clunk as the cylinder hits its max extension stop and the pump motor should carry on running, possibly with a change in tone. The motor should not stop. (This is perfectly ok - it is ok to run the motor against the stop because there is a pressure relief valve). Can you describe whether this is happening, or what else is happening, exactly?
The motor continues to run with change in tone but not hearing a clunk (will tune in more to this next time though).
Yes, when they install them, they just tie a rope from the passerelle to the flybridge railings to support itApologies if I'm going over what has already been suggested but how about supporting the passarelle and disconnect the ram from the bottom of it and operating the ram without any load and see how far the ram retracts and extends and you can then have a close inspection to see if it's movement is being restricted in any way etc.

Just out of interest....if you put it all the way down would it hit the swim platform ?Hi guys
I'm new to the world of passarelles. I have a Besenzoni on my new (to me) boat and trying to figure out if I can adjust it to be more upright in it most upright position. The attached photo shows it in its most "upright" position but I've seen other boats where the passarelle points straight up thus allowing for better access on swim platform. Any thoughts on whether there is opportunity to adjust it somehow? Hard to judge if I'm at theax angle for the ram, it looks like there should be a bit more in it.
Many thanks
What a pain in the backside. That said I've come to accept the 'hand made' nature of boats and two identical boats can have oddly different fixtures. I wouldn't be surprised if they happened to have a shorter ram version in stock when building the boat and thought it would be good enough.Apologies its taken time to get back. Mystery solved, its at its max extension. I lowered it a bit then manually lifted and I can feel it hitting its stop/top of the ram. A bit baffling as the comparator boat (same model) has exact same passarelle with exact same brackets fixed in same place (to the cm). I guess for some reason mine got fitted with a shorter ram OR got replaced along the way (although it also looks identical)
I will run with it for another season, if it continues to get in the way ill remove it.
Thankyou for all the suggestions and guidance
Or the other boat got a longer ram by mistakeWhat a pain in the backside. That said I've come to accept the 'hand made' nature of boats and two identical boats can have oddly different fixtures. Or that of course. Though if it was a mistake it was good one.Or the other boat got a longer ram by mistake
