Passage Planning Software

£100 is far too much! they've only just released the price but i wouldn't pay that.

i would say anyone solely relying on Savvy navvy for a decent lengthy passage would be an irresponsible skipper, its just another tool in the box to pick from, a pricey one at that.

I have just tried their demo with a simple route for this weekend. It won't let me start at my home base and forces you to have a start point in open sea! It does not appear to have any basic navigation rule programming for routing and is purely wind routing at its most basic. I tried a very simple route across the Irish Sea to Kilmore Quay and it totally ignores essential navigation marks at Kilmore.......

This app is not even worth as much as a chocolate fireguard.

The opening offer is £99 per annum as a founder member. The full package they are promoting but not demoing yet with full tidal and wind routing is £199 per annum. This has to be a scam!

Its telling me currently from Portsmouth to Yarmouth will take 18y 3m 10d 6h 35m so... yeah somethings wrong, the old demo (which worked with a live forecast ) used to work fine even for navigation the same as Navionics (of course some caution is needed) but looking at those prices its pie in the sky anyway.

i only said it looked an interesting development :) im sceptical of anything with a monthly / annual fee especially one which costs more than my annual car tax!
