Passage planning software

Can't see any tidal stream data being used for course to stear and ETA to/at the next waypoint. If this is the case its pretty useless and seems to be mostly a "chart selector".

I have a copy and use it extensively for working out which charts I need for the next voyage. You plot your course via waypoints and press a button and it will print a report of all the charts you need. I use ARCS charts for navigating and it is clever enough to tell me which additonal ones I need. You select type and scale of charts to be displayed. It also has a database of port information containing stuff largely aimed at merchant shipping but still a bit useful to yotties. Downside is that the user inteface is a bit non-intuitive in places.

You can download it for free to try it out then it costs abot £35 if you want to buy it which I have and was using it this morning for doing a bit of planning for next year's cruise.

PS

I forgot to add that you might like to try Passage Planner for true passage planning, a bit pricey at about £70 but a really useful tool that includes wind and current roses. The wind rose is particularly good for planning which month is best to get the best winds for your passage.
