Pasha Bulker being towed off beach now

I notice they have been lifting the crew off for a little while now, I wonder if they have given up and are waiting for the inevitable?
 
I'm amazed how shallow she seems, it appears to be floating in a few feet of water, many yachts would be aground before that ship.
 
If they don't get shifting soon the whole ship is going to be a part of that Australia , why don't they tow with the waves . I know they're upside down , but not back to front too , surely

I dread to think about what would have happened to anyone caught by one of those lines as it gave way , with the extreme tension the whiplash would have been tremendous

It was bobbing about at the bow when they were trying to pull it off. Seems to be stuck at the stern. Maybe they should try to slew it around, or maybe that might break the thing in two. Don't know if ships are designed to take much of a lateral bending load?

Absolutely. And for even less than ship lines.
During the launch of a 24m Diano flybridge a couple of years ago, a snapped line seriously injuried some 4 or 5 people.
If I remember correctly, one of them lost a leg - it's easy to imagine what could happen, would the line have hit the head instead of the leg...

read somewhere else there was a ship washed up therabouts in the 40's or 50's i think and its still there in the beach broken up and broken apart nothing to see anymore

Wouldn't that be a bit late it the hole is bigger than they thought?
