Hi All,
I'm looking for a good pair of hands / eyes to accompany me & sometimes family on fishing trips (day trips) out of Port Solent on my boat. Idea was for my wife to helm but it's not working out. I have a 30ft motor boat, hoping to get out at least once or twice a month (weather & work permitting). Not looking for any financial contribution but need practical help with helm etc. I am physically able but have restricted peripheral vision so struggle in close quarters - of course we will have some fun between us. Ideally you will know the local waters (maybe some good spots?). I am definitely a fair weather fisherman so hopefully it won't be too hard an ask :-). Hopefully can make some good companions along the way. Boat should be in the water in next month or so.
Please do drop me a line if you think this might be of interest to you. Thanks

Come to think of it, a good friend of mine (ex serviceman who lives in Aldershot) is a keen sea angler. He knows many of the good spots from the Western IoW lo the Looe Channel off Selsey, together with the optimal tackle, baits, etc. to use in each area. As far as I know he also has a pretty good idea where the professional angling hire vessels go.

Let me know if you'd like me to mention it to him?

Would be delighted to; I'll pm once I've made contact. Oh, and welcome to the forum!
