I use the same rig as I use for casting fishing weights with a different ladle so as not to contaminate the zinc with lead. Old shaft anodes and the remains of disc annodes are remade into disc annodes for trim tabs and rudder.
For a mould I just press a disc anode into casting sand in a box, I can do upto 4 at a time depending how much scrap zinc I have. I have wondered about using scrap plumbers zinc sheet that used to be used for flashing aroung chimneys instead of lead but not tried it yet.
As they disolve I must assume they are working
