I don't have a boat yet..... but I am planning where to keep it when I get it, although I am aiming for the Norfolk coast I am also looking at the option of keeping it a south coast marina for about a year currently the main candidates are Eastbourne or Brighton.

If I pay for a marina berth does it also allow car parking for free? I am pretty sure that normal parking in both of these marinas is free but I don't know how it works if the vehicle is left fro several days or weeks at a time.

Can any of the residents advise.

There are two car parks near the harbour in Eastbourne. The main one for the marina is strait ahead as you go in to the North Harbour for the yacht club and marina facilities and to the right a larger one for the shopping complex. I have never heard of them closing but don't take my word for it. There are however restaurants at both the harbour and at the shops also a cinema, these all stay open late.

All of that is academic if you go to: http://www.premiermarinas.com/pages/eastbourne_marina_facilities

where you will find out all you need to know or phone the marina office on 01323 470099 (24Hrs)

"Car Parking

Plenty of spaces for berth holders."

The may be some other parking under cover near the marina office which is reserved for birth holders but I'm not quite sure.

Fairly sure this still applies...
Brighton Marina (Premier) issue a windscreen sticker to their berth holders which should prevent any problems about parking overnight. There is an 'official' time limit of 4 hours in the multi-story car park for vehicles not displaying a sticker. Having said all that, I found a warning notice from some numpty stuck under the windscreen wiper right next to the parking permit sticker saying I could be wheel clamped?? In theory you should be watertight with the premier sticker, they are year stamped so obviously you'll need a current one..:)

I am currently in Brighton. As mentioned earlier, with the Berth Holder's Permit displayed in the windscreen you can leave your vehicle in the car park as long as it is taxed. The longest that my car has remained in the car park without moving at all was last summer when we were away for six weeks. Can't speak for Eastbourne authoratively but I think that the same applies.
