Am thinking of downsizing and very much like the look of the Parker 21.

Any experiences or thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for the recent input. Have not entirely ruled out the Anderson yet.

Parker 21...dreadful boat, so much so that all Parker 21s should be parked outside my house immediately for disposal.....;)

They are in fact a well made boat that is pretty and sails extremely well. Its the boat I wanted when I bought my Dehler, but found that P21 prices were £3k+ higher on average, reflecting their comparative youth. At 21 ft they are compact, but have a higher coachroof than my Dehler giving a smidgeon more headroom.

I was having a look at an Anderson 22 in a boatyard on Saturday and its a much heavier kind of beast with a big bulb keel, so there is bound to be a trade off between easy handling on and offshore with the Parker, and probably better seakeeping qualities in an Anderson, but less wieldy if you need to tow it anywhere.

Its rare to hear anything bad about a Parker boat.
