I am looking into importing a small boat from USA. Can you tell me if I am missing anything with regard to paper work, procedures etc.
Apart from shipping costs, I have the import tax plus VAT on top of that. There is the issue of the CE certificate (either self certificate or get it professionally certified).
For customs I will have my bill of sale, tariff classification guide/ papers etc
Can anyone tell me if I have missed anything ?
Is it as easy as all that (tongue in check) ?

Form my little knowledge you can get a professional certification CEProof they have quoted me £400+vat but then its only a glorified rowing boat I am looking at. I haven't got to the bottom of the self certificate thing yet and if I can do that then I am flying.

Colum,
CEProof quoted me £2500 to certify a 25' yacht.
I was frotunate in that I did not need to use them in the end.
