Palm GPS

Does anyone out there have any experience of GPS add ons for Palm Pilots, I have looked at www.randmcnally.com and they produce thier own units to fit both the Palm III anfd the Palm V, they appear to have great functionality and tracking via the onscreen maps (albeit american ones without buying axtra software) it seems, but the acid test is... has anyone out there used one, and are they as good as a dedicated unit?

The main problem with these is that they are not waterproof as opposed to the real GPS's. This is fine for driving around but next to useless for boats or hiking.

I looked at the Compaq Chart plotter/GPS the other day at the show, and it had a dinky plug in external aerial on about 3-4 ft of cable that could be velcroed in position.
