Hi all,

I've tried a quick search for an answer but probably due to me not wording it properly.

Hopefully an easy answer for you folk.

The (old) paint on the inside (cabin-side) of my sliding hatch is peeling so i'll get all that off but the question I have is what paint is suitable to paint it again, its just rough GRP/fibre-glass. Does it need to be primed, or can it be painted on direct.

It doesn't have to be a Van Gogh job, just after smartening it up.

Thanks,

Gordon

There was an article in PBO suggesting that the new breed of water based acrylics such as Sadolin Superdec will paint stright onto any substrate on a boat, but not suited to external use. I haven't tried it yet as it requires better than 8 degrees ambient!

International Danboline perhaps.
No priming required of the reverse side of GRP
Comonly used for the inside of lockers and bilges
Limited range of colours, but includes white

Thanks for the help

Leaning towards the 'danboline in white' route - was thinking of doing the inside lockers anyway.

Cheers again.
