Hi, i agree that painting a boat is a last option for tired gelcoat (regardless of colour) even though there are some excellent products now available.
My advice would be to pop to toolstation or screwfix and purchase a full size polishing mop for around £50 to £60.
look on ebay for Farecla G6 (3kg) for approx £30.
This will last you years.
Only use the mop at 1500 rpm.
That dull, faded blue gelcoat will come up like new.
Hard to reach places....G6 works well by hand, use 2000 grit wet & dry on any stubborn bits, or 1200 W&D then 2000 followed by G6.
It might sound complicated, but trust me...i do it for a living.
