Hi
Looking for some advice I have a small speed boat which is trailered and kept out of the water and the original gel coat is starting to show its age and has some signs of wear and tear on it.

What's the correct procedure to painting the bottom of the boat have read some forums that have mentioned barrier paints, epoxy paint, anti fouling paint but no one has said what I need and in what order they should be applied can any one help ? Thanks in advance

I've painted several speedboats & had good results with standard automotive two pack
It's not like the boat will be in the water for months on end & cars stand out in all weather's anyway
Car paint is probably half the price of anything with marine in the name
Just use a an old school 2 pack high build primer & a standard acrylic two pack paint
available from any decent motor factors don't use a water based system though
