Hi all,

Some advice please, would be appreciated. Our boat is Fiberglass. We are looking at possibly painting the interior. However this appears to be unfinished and is almost like a material (I guess the unfinished fiberglass) - and is rough in texture and brown'ish in colour.

My question is, can someone recommend a paint we could use, that is safe, that will cover this?

Have researched the net, but have not come up with anything substantial.

Thank you one and all!!!

Regards
DK

Can't really help you on the paint side, but I understand your issue. Gelcoat it. The preferred option for me at least would really be to cover / upholster it in a material, but that depends on how damp / humid it get's inside where mildew etc would otherwise become your biggest issue. I covered my cuddy interior with foam backed vinyl "leatherette" using an aerosol contact adhesive and assorted pvc T-profiles at the edges and joints for hard fixings. With a bit of care and patience the end result was more pleasing to the eye than a painted finish. I chose vinyl because damp was an issue. Cloth would have been "warmer".
